Lactation Consultation Services

At Garden City Pediatrics we recognize the many benefits of breastfeeding and are happy to be able to provide lactation visits to support our newest patients and their parents as they establish optimal infant feeding routines.

Our Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Meghan Viader, is an internationally board- certified lactation consultant who is passionate about supporting mother/baby dyads in achieving their breastfeeding goals through all the joys and challenges that come with that journey.

Meghan has 15 years of experience working in pediatrics, including 5 years specializing in newborn medicine in the hospital setting.  She is here to assist with any and all feeding concerns including positioning, supply issues, nipple pain, medication safety, pumping, bottle feeding, return to work concerns and even weaning guidance.

Meghan is the mother of four young children and loves to hike, camp and travel with her family in her free time.  She is thrilled to bring this exciting and important service to Garden City Pediatrics.  Lactation visits happen in our office and are billed through the baby’s insurance.
